Panasonic announces plans to release Wiimote-proof Plasma TVs - Image 1 Apparently, the saga of flying Wiimotes and busted television sets  is a potential business prospect that's caught Panasonic's attention.

The company unveiled at their recent product showcase in Valencia an upcoming line of Plasma TVs that are stated to be Wii-proof.
By this, we think the company meant the Wiimote controller that's been sent airborne by many a slippery hand during a heated bout of Wii Sports.

At the moment, the company reports that their new Plasma TV has been  equipped with a specially treated panel that will allow it to resist impact forces of up to 4 joules. As a reminder, a joule is the metric unit of energy for measuring heat, electricity and mechanical work.

No pricing details have been announced for this upcoming new Plasma TV - drop by again in case Panasonic releases more info on this new unit's other specs.

 » Well...

Some of us have exceptionally sweaty palms, which in turn means we're more likely to drop the controller.

That, and some of us can get carried away on those backhands...

What does sweaty hands have to do with the Wii remote being strapped to your wrist? NOTHING.

Yes, I've seen the videos of the strap breaking. Most liklely because they didn't "cinch" the strap to their wrist.

"plans to release Wiimote-proof Plasma TVs"

In other words...idiot proof TV's.

» come on now, Wii owners need this

Don't overestimate the intelligence of the average Wii owner. After all, they did pay up to $400 for an overclocked Gamecube.
