PSXMC2PSP Beta 1 - Image 1If you ever had your heart set on finishing a game, only to have your PlayStation conk out on you, then we definitely share your sentiment. That's happened to us before, and this writer's felt the sting of a dead PlayStation right on the second to the last story battle in Final Fantasy Tactics.

Now that you can start playing PSX games on a PSP though, Weltall's handy new app should help you out, though you'll need to be a big PlayStation junkie to get the full use of it.

PSXMC2PSP for CWCheat Beta 1 can move the contents of your PSX memory card to and from the PSP and PS2, essentially allowing you to continue a game you were playing on a home console on the PSP, and vice versa.

Weltall also adds,

Not only that, but this can be done with a simple press of a button (SELECT to copy from PSX memory cards to mcr memory cards for CWCheat and START to copy from mcr memory cards for CWCheat to PSX memory cards). If you put the PSX CD the id of the game will be automatically recognised and the file will be named correctly to be used (without any other work) on CWCheat with your favourite game.

For people who definitely want to play through the main story of a game wherever they're at, this is a great solution for you. Note, however, that you'll also need a PS2 to pull this off. In any case, your best bet is to check the readme for more information, or visit the forum thread below if you want to ask Weltall or other members of the community more questions. Enjoy!

This is exactly what I'd like to have... Unfortunately, my PS2 can't run "Homebrew" apps, so I can't use it >_
