Sony is obviously tight-lipped when it comes to security, and even tighter-lipped when it comes to security measures. Given its aggressive track record and serious work to combat hackers and pirates, it seems likely the PSP Slim and Lite will have something big up it's sleeve. And given the hackers track record, it won't be long before we find out what. |

Isn't that a bit of a quagmire for Sony? If they scare off the homebrewers, that'll cut into their sells. It won't be the new users who are going to purchase the PSP-2000, but the current users.

Sony has underestimated the appeal of homebrew. What other hacking scene has gotten as much attention by major media outlets??? name it.
(seriously homebrew wasn't just this little fad, it was and still is a revolution in handheld gaming and customization.)

If the games still suck, who gives a *****. And yes, I know syphon filter and metal gear and some others have been reallly good, but overall psp games are gay.

The USB link is in effect to link your PSP to some mysterious computer controlled by Sony where everything is *censored* before they ever reach your memory stick, before you wonder why the USB bus could be that slower than a RS-232.
If you have something to copy to PSP which Sony doesn't like, you will got a CRC error or prompt you have a faulty USB cable, etc.
So don't bother hack it.

well i was talking to a few people on a PSP forum and they believe its because the new PSP wont be able to support 1.50. this puts a damper on all the homebrewers, hackers, whatever. im sure the hackers will find a way but itll be a lloonngg time before they find a way to make the slim able to support homebrew
