Powernoid v3 - Image 1

Version 3 of Art's Breakout clone, Powernoid is up and ready for download (my, that was fast... but that's to be expected of Art, I suppose). This update streamlines some of Powernoid's gameplay elements. Note the changelog:

Powernoid V3 (03/12/08):
  • Improved collision detection by checking the edge of the ball in the direction it is travelling.
  • Bat movement made slightly faster, and ball turns red when fireball powerup is active.
  • Added powerups to two more stages so every odd stage now has a powerup available.
  • Change made to second ball behaviour in multiball mode.
  • Change to high score encryption so the save file is incompatible with previous version
The game itself, as already mentioned, is a Breakout clone with Megaball-inspired power ups thrown in. You can move the bat with either the D-pad or the analog stick, whichever suits you best. Pressing the home button pauses the game and allows you to view your current score.
