On Blu-ray This Week: Twister, The Devil's Own, and Shall We Dance? - Image 1

We're in for quite a ride in this week's list of fresh Blu-ray releases, so you better hold on to your hats, small dogs, and dancing shoes. We're sure last week's ensemble casts and motley crews got you glued to your couch, this week's titles will keep you stuck in front of your Blu-ray home entertainment system.

This week on Blu-ray will have you rooting for storm chasers, a grieving widow, an honest cop, bumbling felons, an average Joe who takes up ballroom dancing, a reincarnated man out for revenge, a dreamer, Ozzy Osbourne, and a typeface. This mish-mash batch has a little bit of everything and we better get on with checking out some of them.

For this batch, we'll take a closer look at Twister, The Devil's Own, and Shall We Dance?

One natural disaster movie comes to mind when tornadoes and flying cows are mentioned: Twister. Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton play two storm chasers trying out a new device that would collect data about twisters, named DOROTHY. The data collected will eventually help create a better warning system and thus, less casualties. The thing is, they have to get the device INSIDE the twister.

In The Devil's Own, honest policeman Tom O'Meara opens his doors to Irish immigrant Rory Devaney thinking that the latter ran away from the violence between the IRA and the loyalist paramilitaries. As it turns out, things are only peaceful on the outside as a sinister plot and lies are unravelled. Will you let a stranger into your house and trust him enough to welcome him into your family?

John Clark has everything - a steady job and a happy family - but his life seems a tad bit boring. He spots a pretty woman (pun intended, can't help it) gazing out of the window of a dance studio. He gets the courage to sign up for dance lessons and he learns more than a few fancy steps. Shall We Dance?

That's it for this week's Blu-ray releases. We'll bring you more Blu-ray goodness in next week's episode so stay tuned.
