On Blu-ray This Week: Predator, Alien vs. Predator, and Juno - Image 1

It's time for your dose of high definition home entertainment goodness this week and rest assured that this week's batch of Blu-ray title releases will have you buried in your couches for a while. We've got a bucket load of aliens, a one-man army, a very very sassy teenager, a tour, brothers strapped for cash, and a trip to India.

This week's Blu-ray titles include offerings from 20th Century Fox - Juno, the Alien vs. Predator flicks, Predator, and Commando - plus a film fueled by desperation Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, A Passage to India which was based on a novel by E. M. Forster, and concert tour Mariah Carey: Adventures of Mimi.

The batch we'll see on the shelves this week is pretty interesting, especially if you're a fan of the Predator and Alien vs. Predator franchises. Let's take a closer look at some of the titles, shall we?

We first met the alien hunter race of Predators in the movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Predator. Yes, we're talking about the original Predator movie with Ahnuld slathering himself with mud to escape the Predator's heat vision. How would a Special Forces unit fare against a single Predator? Of course, you've got to take into account that it's bigger, faster, and stronger.

In a crossover to end all crossovers, we see two of the most fearsome fictional alien races, Aliens and Predators, in a single sci-fi flick. In the first Alien vs. Predator movie, humans discover a mysterious heat bloom under Antarctica's ice and end up getting in the middle of the Predators' hunting trip. The sequel, Alien vs. Predator Requiem, picks up where the first one left off - the Predalien, a hybrid between an Alien and a Predator. The sleepy small town and its hapless denizens didn't know what hit them.

The comedy Juno features a funny dialogue, an engaging story, and memorable characters. If you haven't seen it, it centers around Juno, a sixteen year old girl who gets pregnant. It's a coming of age story and well, in describing the title character, we'll have to ask you to go find a thesaurus and look up all the synonyms for sassy and smart-mouthed.

That's it for this week on Blu-ray. You've got more extraterrestrials to last you a week, plus all some titles with high entertainment value to sweeten the pot. The complete list of releases can be found below so be sure to check them out.
