Mortal Kombat - Image 1Fans of visceral combat and gut-wrenching fatalities will soon get their fix. Reportedly, Midway Games will unleash a new entry in its long-running fighting game series today at its Gamers' Day event. In brutally layman terms, the latest Mortal Kombat title is going to be revealed very soon as its countdown proves to be legit.

So far, it is only known that the next-gen Mortal Kombat is powered by a heavily modified version of Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3. We may soon see how gorgeous visuals shaped up to be, because a couple of sites claim videos are scheduled to drop come April 18.

For now, we're sure to keep tabs on the latest Mortal Kombat installment after waiting for a couple of years since Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's 2006 release. We've been hearing about it as early as March, but the impending reveal is difficult to miss. Check back for updates!

I loved deadly alliance. But it lacked my most favorite character. Which is lui kang. I would also like noob saibot and all the others from all the previous games that would be awesome

Since embargo means to banish or prohibit or get rid of. Seems they are saying the throws wont be in the next game. Scorpion seems to be grabbing someone.

Are the only ones confirmed making a return. The cast is supposed to be almost entirely new according to boon, so Cyrax may be, but Lui Kang ... dead, gone, someone new will replace him. Unless thats changed, i personally would prefer a clean slate. Armageddon had way too many characters to be considered anything other than a compilation title like MK trilogy. Not to mention the fatality system was retarded, having the same exact fatalities available to everyone. Part of the magic of the old MK was discovering all of the unique fatalities of each character. Lets hope every character gets their own set of customizable fatalities, this time around.
