FIFA Soccer 09 - Image 1

Electronic Arts has unveiled a new online mode for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of FIFA Soccer 09. Called FIFA 09 Clubs, this mode lets gamers form or join clubs of up to 50 people and then participate in the new Be A Pro: 10 v 10 Online Team Play feature.

The whole things works like a divisional season tournament. Clubs gain ranks based on their performance, so team play will be key if you wanna make it to the big leagues. Club managers can scout rival players and then recruit them for their club. Similarly, if a club member is slacking off, the club manager can kick him out anytime.

EA's announcement also carried a reminder for fans that a playable demo of FIFA Soccer 09 will be available tomorrow, September 11, on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. The full game is slated for release on October 14.

Does EA really expect me to pay another £40, when 09 is the same as 08?
