Ó

As I'm sure many of you have noticed by now, we have a new addition to the QJ.NET Blogs - the "Jump it Up" box! This allows our readers to "vote" on an article if they enjoy reading it! "But why?" you might ask. The answer is simple! By voting for articles you like, it gives us (and our bloggers) a clear indication of what kind of news our readers (that means YOU!) want to see posted on our blogs. So if you like what you see, just "Jump it up!"

But the fun doesn't stop there! In the next few weeks, this feature will be expanded upon giving our members the ability to sort the news depending on how much it's been "jumped," as well as having an impact on where on the page the news is displayed on our "QJ.NET Blog of Blogs" page. This is your chance to determine what you see and what we post!

As an added benefit to our logged in members, they count for TWO votes whereas those of you who aren't logged in only count for one. To register at QJ.NET, simply fill out the New User Registration form, found in the Log In box to the right of the screen.

I hope everyone enjoys this new addition and makes the most of it! If you like the "Jump it Up" feature, the easiest way to tell us is to click "Jump it Up" on this article!

As with any new feature, there are bound to be the various bugs and browser incompatibility issues, so if you are having any sort of trouble be sure to Contact Us about it so we can fix it as soon as possible!

(To ensure that the majority of our readers get the lowdown on the "Jump it Up" feature, this post will stay at the top of the news list for part of the day. Look below for the latest news!)

Nice!
Pretty cool!

Why not instead of using "jump it up" use a more clear text like "liked this"? I hesitated to click on it the first time I saw these buttons. You'll notice high amounts of votes in impopular blogs, due to this kind of confusion.

Thanks for the suggestions, #2. :)

We wanted to choose an original and clear "phrase" for this feature... hopefully it will become more recognizeable as to what its for. After all, not everyone knew what "Google it" meant at first. :)

That's also why we made this announcement, so people know what its about. Yesterday was just for you guys to kinda play around with it and make sure it was working properly.

 » A digg?

dude a digg would be a copy off that digg website or w/e its called .... BUT ANYWAYS.... i just noticed another nice thing when put ur cursor on a link if its popular than it will same somthin like "19th most popular link".... Pretty Sweet!

 » This is stupid...

You guys post any thing and everything anyway. Even if its unrelated to the psp we still see it on the psp section for some reason. Why do we need to tell you waht we want when you guys do that? It seems pointless and its a *****ing hassle to get thru now. Another lame addition that the donation money that we are "forced" to pay to get rid of ads because of the guy who owns all of these blogs and makes mad bank to pay for his golf all day. Waste of time.

@ #11 post:
Shut up dude there just trying to see what kind of articles the public like and make it easyer for ppl to find a good read (friggin idiot)

   by Jake D. - 2006-04-20

#11: All the complaints about what is being posted is part of the reason WHY we have this new feature. Even when we try to cater to your desires, you still complain... which is why its sometimes hard to take your complaints seriously.

And not that its any of your business, but this site currently operates at a severe loss... in the way of tens of thousands of dollars a month. Which is okay temporarily, because we're going places. But please, your ignorance about how much money this site is making off of ads is unwanted.

 » Great

This is a great feature. It allows you to voice your opinion on whether you like an article at the simple click of a button. Please don't moan about an addition to the site that in the long run will do you good.

If you want to use it, use it. If you don't like it, simply don't use it.

#16: Since this article has been "Jumped" almost 200 times in 30 minutes, I'm thinking alot of people care. You don't have to like it, but don't assume that you're in the majority. ;)

 » blah

at least they seem to have finally realized that most of the crap they post is stupid and we dont care. I would like to see a "bump it down" function personally.

by Anonymous Coward (Unregistered) - 2006-04-20
 » ah

why not jump on this?
where we can vote it down if we dont like it ala reddit and digg etc.

   by Jake D. - 2006-04-20

To be honest, #19 - everything currently on the first page of PSPU I find to be legitimate PSP news. Maybe you're just too picky. ;)

 » wah?

i think its a crap attempt at copying digg....

   by Jake D. - 2006-04-20

Except that Digg is completely user submitted and we're a completely different kind of site. ;)

Yes, there are similarities - but a good idea is a good idea.

this is a good idea because it allows users to chat about anything instead of spaming other forums and to be honst who cares about the name? PS: is the sony update even out today
