Nintendo has sent out a press release announcing the final US release date for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Nestled in all the PR-speak is a nice little surprise for Zelda fans: the abduction-prone princess will be fighting right alongside Link in this adventure.

Princess Zelda has been getting herself kidnapped for almost a quarter of a century now, and that doesn't change in Spirit Tracks. However, her spirit will be accompanying Link this time, possessing suits of armor and helping Link out with the fighting and puzzle solving. Watch the trailer below to see what she brings to the Hyrule-saving table.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is all set for a December 7 release in North America. Europe will get it on December 11.
