If you've already received but haven't tried out your free Netflix PS3 streaming disc yet, do it now. Sony and Netflix have announced that the movie streaming service is now live.

Here's a short video showing the service.

Thanks to Bradley for the tip!

I used it last night, was okay, very nice to have a larger screen with better sound. Only down side is there is no way to change or add to the list while in the viewer, you need to exit and use a web browser. Still, not bad for a free add on.

 » Yes you can

Use the D-Pad to go up to highlight the tabs up top. Then use left and right on the D-pad to view the catagories and put them on your queue list. I thought I needed to do all this on a PC, but last night I found that you can do it on the PS3. I havn't found a search feature yet though.

I love this, now I don't have to always have a live gold account to use my netflix instant streaming. It's not quite as fast as they show in the vid but is survivable, this problem should be solved in they update the OS.

Got mine last Friday and tested it last night. While the initial load of the app takes a little longer than the 360, I've noticed that the movies load and begin playing faster than XBL. Its great that its now on both systems.

So far I'm very pleased with the quality of the videos. Whether it be on 360 or PS3, Netflix rocks.

all i said is "no HD." since 360 has HD, I expected this on the PS3 also...

Uhh... aren't there Hd movies and series? I've seen videos of it and series like Heroes have an HD symbol under it.
I don't know if it is real HD or just upscaled so please clear me up.

You're getting the same service whether you use PC, 360 or PS3. Its unfortunate that you need an HD logo in order to enjoy your movie.

The quality of stream varies from movie to movie. If the HD file exists to be streamed then you "should" get the same experience on any platform.

 » HD is there

Some movies labeled HD show up in 720p unless you go into the PS3 display settings and uncheck 720p and 1080p, then HD will display in 1080i. 1080p only setting will make them only display in 480p. I like the service overall but they limit the content to only 100 movies per genre. Also there is no search bar or dvd que page. Maybe in future versions we will see more features.

The only thing I can think of is to use the PS3's web browser to go to Netflix.com and edit your queue there. I know the PS3's browser is crap but it works.
