Looks like July saw a lot of excitement for the video game industry. According to the latest reports from the NPD Group, not only did the Wii sell more than the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 did combined, but total industry sales also shot up a whopping 37% to US$ 925.5 million.
GTA IV was certainly eagerly awaited by fans, but at the most macro-level for the industry, I don't think its postponement will have that big an impact on total industry dollar sales once everything is tallied for the year. [...] There are other very big games still to come that will really smooth over any hole left from GTA IV moving to 2008. What I really think is that 2008 will benefit from GTA IV because it will be no small task for the industry [in 2008] to measure up to this year's sales. |

i dont care if the wii sold more than the 360 the 360 is WAY better the wii's graphics SUCK i hate it and the psp is also better than the wii also the wii's online sucks

If you think the Wii sucks because its graphics aren't great, you're a dumbass. Graphics aren't everything. I like pretty graphics like everyone else, but at the same time bad graphics don't make a game bad.
Almost every successful system in history has had worse graphics then its competitors. The Genesis could outperform the SNES, the N64 could outperform the PS1, the GCN and XBox could both easily out power the PS2, and the longest lasting game system in history had 8 bit monochrome graphics (Gameboy.) It's obvious that graphics are NOT what sells systems, it's games that sell sytems.
The problem with the Wii right now is the lack of games. Metroid will alleviate that for a bit, and then Mario, Smash Bros, and Manhunt (When the "cut" version is finally released. Damn ESRB >_>)
I'm not saying that the Wii is better then the 360. Right now I'd say the 360's game library is better. The Wii will get its games soon, and then I think they'll be a bit more evened out. Even if the graphics aren't that great.

I agree Cyberblade. Games are made for fun and entertainment, not to look good. If want great graphics, watch a movie.

Actually considering the gamecube came out later than it's 2 rival systems, and the N64 had 64 bit graphics while both it's competitors had 32, I would say that yes, in fact, they DID have better graphics...and yes, they didn't do quite as popular as the other systems....so you fail....and you smell funny

Also, lets not console bash.
Also, to your remarks regarding the Wii seem to be unfounded. Look at Mario Galaxies next time you want to dis the Wii.
Oh, and the 360 may have decent graphics, but it seems to have a high fail rate. That seems to be a problem for me. that is one BILLION reasons that the 360 isn't the perfect console you claim it to be.

PS3 will not be plowing anything. The only acclaim the PS3 gets is on discussion boards by die hard sony fans who have nothing better to do but try to clammer support for the system. The 360 sold better in july than the PS3, even after the 100$ price cut. To top it off, the 360 had a price cut this month. All signs are pointing to microsoft selling more consoles this year than the PS3. Live with it, maybe next year the PS3 will do better. But until then, quit trying to predict the future and just play the great games that are coming out (on all 3 systems).
Ever since I started playing bioshock I have not touched another game.

I also don't care how much the wii is selling compared to other next gen console but, the fact is it can't content high end and high resolution games most hardcore gamer are waiting for. so, wii is actually in a different market with different approach. As long as PS3 and 360 are also selling for thousands each month, there is nothing to be worried about! let the casual gamers play with Wii and for serious gamers, enjoy your PS3 and 360! great games are coming for us!

I hate the Gaystation 3 just buy a Wii it's much better and has something the ps3 don't have GAMES!!!!! don't buy the Gaystation 3 LOL!!!!
