Even old board games are turning Hi-Tech, with Parker Brothers game Monopoly going all Hi-Tech. No longer will you have the problem of loosing money, or be accused of cheating when playing the banker as future versions of Monopoly in the UK will use fake debit cards in replacement of cash. Due to a deal with credit company Visa, the cards will all display the Visa label on them. To use, you simply insert your card into an electronic machine where the banker taps in cardholders' earnings and payments (meaning you can still cheat as the banker!).

Parker Brothers' Chris Weatherhead said: "The new electronic Monopoly reflects the changing nature of society and the advancement of technology." And I have to agree. Monopoly was first released in 1935, and according to the Guinness book of World Records has been played by over 750 million people, making it the worlds most popular board game. Plans for a US version of the electronic Monopoly have not yet been released, but it is available in the UK for £24.99 ($40), compared to £12.99 for the "cash" version.

"Would you Like Mayfair?"
"Yes, put it on my Visa please"
