After the good news comes the bad. Just yesterday, news about trophies being blocked on the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2 came out. That's been fixed. The problem is, reports are saying the fix has royally messed up the matchmaking service. Joystiq reports that patch 1.2 has made gamers unable to connect to Infinity Ward's matchmaking servers: Today, launching the multiplayer mode from our own PS3 copy of Modern Warfare 2 did indeed prove futile, as we stared at the matchmaking screen for about five minutes before finally giving up. Infinity Ward is rolling out a party invite update by Friday according to IW's Robert Bowling. Hopefully that'll fix the problem. Related articles: |

I bought it on PS3 cause I am tired of the little kids that play this game on Xbox 360, and tired of the fake NY accents redneck kids from places like KY have pretending they are street thugs on the internet when I'd easily beat them to a bloody pulp. So...hurry up with the damn patch!!!!

NY is special in many ways.. give me one way its not.. sometimes i feel like getting out of here tho because it does get annoying.. but i was born and raised here and i dont think i would last staying more than a couple of weeks anywhere else.. especially in the suburbs.. no matter how nice and quite it is but suburbs r old ppl lifestyle.. its too damn boring..lol...

This type of thing is expected with a new release. There are always going to be bugs in the game. After a couple of weeks, the patches come out, and life's good.
Since multiplayer is going to have issues until Friday's patch, then play through the single player campaign. It's amazing with an unforgettable story. I'm loving it so far!

Just been playing for a couple of hours. The v1.02 patch didn't srew up the multiplayer either. The matchmaking servers went down several hours after the patch became available.
