Remember Benjamin Heckendorn's (aka Ben Heck) custom one-handed Xbox 360 controller from way back? It seems that he's decided to give it a second look.

Ben's revised version of this mod project features a more ergonomic grip that's easier to wield, among other tweaks. Here are a couple of pics of his latest work to give you an idea of how it looks:

One of the more interesting features that's been built in is the swiveling trigger area. Ben explains that this should help accommodate the diverse finger dimensions present in the gaming community.

The right analog controller - the joystick sticking out at the bottom of the rig - is meant to be moved by propping your controller above your leg or a table. The bad news is that Ben didn't specify if this controller might be going into production or not.

This is a heavensent for people with disabilities. people who were born with one abnormal hand or people who lost a hand or limb in an accident. This should definitely go into production and it would be great if he made one for the PS3 as well. The Wii already has a one handed controller so no problems there.

If I'm reading Ben Heck's previous project properly, this one-handed rig was meant for players with disabilities.

but i would think it would be difficult to use the second analog stick (the one on the bottom). it would at least take some getting used to
