The Nintendo Wii is more prominently known as the "kid's console." Childish, shabby visual games are always being picked on by the more mature players, despite the fact that such an innovative console has tapped the greater expanse of the gaming market which even includes non-gamers.

So when GamePro's Vicious Sid had an exclusive one-on-one with Nintendo's game dev legend, Shigeru Miyamoto, and asked exactly how the Wii could address "future hardcore gaming," he got this interesting response:

Well, right now I still look at the Wii's sensor bar and the "pointing" technology we've developed as something that I think is going to end up being very effective for the types of games that the hardcore gamers like to play. There are also other enhancements to the Wii interface and developments being planned that are going to really make games for hardcore players a lot more fun and interesting.
