gamin' in my noggin' - Image 1After finding the technology to make mind-controlled machines such as wheelchairs and robots, it's only natural for technologically-gifted humans to make mind-controlled video game devices. This new gadget, based on the latest developments in neuro-technology, lets humans communicate with computers in an entirely new interface.

Called "Project Epoc" and developed by Emotiv, one just has to put on this headset and think "start" or "select" while viewing a console screen to actually perform these actions. There are sensors in the headgear that tune into electric signals naturally produced by the brain, enabling the device to detect the player's thoughts, feelings and expressions.

Gaming with this headset was described to be engaging and immersive, but we have yet to try it for ourselves to find out. Private demonstrations are available at this year's Game Developers Conference - we're just not sure if a Britney Spears haircut is required.
