Microsteal doing what they do best! Stealing ideas from another comapny! Go on Microsteal, go take the slot loading Blu-Ray drive right out of the PS3 and pop it in the Ca$hBox 360 but, don't forget to do what you always do when you steal something, charge triple what the original designer would charge.
If you don't work for Sony and you don't have all your money invested in Sony stock then why do you care so much? You sound like you need a girlfriend or something. Fanboys are losers.
Wow, you're so cool call them Microsteal (which would suggest a small theft) and Ca$hbox360...
Also realize that EVERYONE charges more then what somethings worth, yes that includes your precious Sony as well.
Anyways I don't really care whether they put Blu Ray in it or not, I have my HD DVD player and if Blu Ray ends up winning(which it seems it will) I'm getting a PS3. I don't care about which 'side' I'm on then I'll be covered on both sides for my movies and games :)
I agree we should be able to play games and watch movies with out choosing sides as consumers.
I have both, PS3 and Sexbox 360 and I can say that I'm much much happier with my PS3 then Sexbox. Know why? Cause Sony doesn't go and change there game disk format in the middle of there console's cycle and force users to upgrade like Microsteal. They also dont charge users 50 bucks a year for LIVE, dont charge people extra for a high def (if you even call that crappy HD DVD format high def) disk drive, dont charge extra for a rechargable controller, dont charge extra for a WiFi card, dont charge extra for the ability to run Linux. See. That's why it should be illegal for the Sexbox to be on sale.
I aggree on everything you just said and they are absolutly correct! BUT!! if you want your views to get a bit more accepted then you should really work on your tone :). I am not patronising you NO. Its just that you made a strong point here and you partly spoiled it with your hate attidute...
Sorry for the typo on my previous post...
Back to the topic. Two days ago I made a joke here on Qj about MS adopting Blu-ray. Well...Its no joke anymore I can tell you that!
Anyway, I think that MS needs to get permission to use blu-ray by the patent owner which is sony right? (correct me if I'm wrong)Now the really interesting question is Will Sony sign a contract with MS ???
- microsoft hasn't changed disk formats
- they haven't forced anyone to upgrade
- you're not obliged to buy hd-dvd
- and as for linux on ps3.. to be fair, you could get a better linux experience on a low spec PC that costs less than a ps3.
- xbox live is by far a MUCH better prospect for online gaming than PSN will ever ever be, and as such i actually don't mind paying for it.
a valid point about wireless controllers.
re:Constantinecy - microsoft said, at least a year ago, that it was willing to swap to a BR drive addon if thats what the market wanted. the fact this has been reiterated by MS lately is not news. :)
I agree with everything that you had to point out about 360, but the PS3 wireless controller does NOT have a user friendly interchangeable wireless controller batteries. I'm thinking by the time the battery doesn't hold a charge you get two options: Keep it plugged in by the USB Type B cord in the PS3 as a wired controller. OR go online (Or where ever you can find a spare battery) replace the battery inside the controller by popping off the back with a screw driver... Or just go buy another controller if you are too frustrated. I don't know about anyone else here on this site, but the people I know with a PS3 would NOT have the knowledge to replace the battery in the PS3 sixaxis controller. It would end up a wired controller and probably be replaced.
Just my 2 cents.
Microsoft won't put a Blu-ray player in the Xbox360 because they would have to pay Sony for using their format. Thats probably why Microsoft is now pushing for downloadable contents as the next format.
copying son of a b's! they better not steal PS3's Home and they better not steal Blu Ray!
You got it.
Fanboy losers.
Sony was merely the people who first went from discs scanned by red lasers to blue lasers. It's predictable that other people will adept to this new technology and make their own blue laser discs to store more information on the discs.
Since the wavelednght of a blue laser is much smaller then that of a red laser, we can store much more information by making the pits (that store binary coding that the laser reads) much smaller and hence having many more of them on the disc.
If thats true that ms is a thief then we could say sony stole the idea of an hdd on a console from ms, you can also say sony stole their idea of an online community from ms, you can also say sony stole motion sensing from the wii, of course we dont say this since we're not idiots like a select few in here.
So please stfu.
Oh and not to mention xbox live arcade.
Microsteal has been stealing stuff far before they entered the gaming world with Winblows and there other crap products so it aint just the Sexbox that sucks it's the entire company (although personally I hate the Sexbox most cause it is a hypocritical pile of ugly trash).
The guy above me is so stupid it hurts. I can't wait to see what you post next Justin XD
I do remember the former generation of consoles have hdd, and which console came out first that was built to have an HDD added on? the PS2, so it would be fair to say that M$ stole sony's idea of having an HDD option. Oh and the online community idea was one that started with different interactive online communities like facebook, myspace, and youtube. So who is the real thief? Everyone.
Um I believe it was Pelican (Third Party) that made the first motion sensor pack for a console. PS2 was built with an HDD slot, and PS2 came out before the XBOX. Also the N64 was the first console with the abiltiy to play online.
Actually, Chu Chu Rocket for Dreamcast was the first console title to offer online multiplayer (via teh intarweb)
N64 had something similar, but it was dial-up modem based IIRC. And if you want to go that route, Tele-Genesis for the MegaDrive/Genesis was the first addon that let you play over dialup. Don't forget about the 14.4kb sega saturn modem neither
Fanboys really need to get their facts together before posting. The PS2 has been able to use a hard drive since it's first version. The N64 actually was the considerably the first console to offer HDD storage although it never made it to past conception.
Playing online, well that just really hasn't been a good option until recently. Face it, without broadband what good is online play? Anyone here ever played a FPS over dial-up? I have and it sux.
Sometimes the time just isn't right and needs to wait until the consumer market catches up with the ideas of the engineers.
Last point, online play and a hard drive don't guarantee a good game
Oh and you can't forget that the Super Famicom had an online download service to download demos (Called the "BS" version of the game.)
And Nintendo had motion sensing on the NES. It's called the Power Glove. Love it.
Wow you posters get more immature by the second. Does sony pay you to come waste your life posting this garbage on here? I sure hope so.
Microsoft will not copy anybody.. they will just add instead the HD DVD player into a blu ray but anyway that's not gonna happen... microsoft wants better the movie downloads...
It's not a copy... is the same idea they have already just to another format and to the guy above.. the motion sensor, sony had the idea long before the wii... and the HDD come one!!! microsoft copy that from the PC? lol... the arcades? isn't the same by far, sony have original and new game and the clasics from psone, sometime with and old school game one but it's totally different...
Sony have so many original ideas.. is just that they are very slow to make it happen...
Wow you guys just made no sense whatsoever. If my MS implements blu-ray to the 360 it would be in the form of an add-on(like the hd-dvd). They wouldnt be using BD for game storage...are you really that dense? Really too all the stuff you name (wifi, liunux) the point is that you have the choice, id be willing to bet that if Sony could go back an re-do the ps3 launch with a bare-bones and a decent premium at the same 300-400 that MS sold at theyd do it in a heartbeat. The biggest thing thats been hurting sony is price, its out of reach even still for a large amount of people. Really why is hd-dvd so lame btw? It gives you the same picture quality(not quite as crisp sound) and far more interactive features, atleast for the time being. Either your just a jackass whose flame-baiting or your handicapped. Im hoping for your sake your just a prick.
Not to dispute any of your points you've mentioned, but I read somewhere that BR has "better" video quality, but HD-DVD had better sound quality (for the audiophiles).
not that I would know from any first hand experience....
Unlimited Usenet account FTW!!!! (1.9 TB and growing)
I love everything that logicbomb.de says.
wilmheath you should read the post from your fellow xboxer because it seams lately like all fanboys post as if they are getting paid for it .
How would adopting Blu-Ray be stealing? Wouldn't they simply be changing their add-on to adhere to the new standard in HD disc based format? I mean when HD-DVD fails, Microsoft sticking with just an HD-DVD add-on would be like having a Laserdisc add-on in the DVD age, or if Sony kept making their Betamax tapes and players after VHS took over, it just doesn't make sense. Get a clue people. Wow fanboys are idiots!
Justingraziano, just so you know Apple stole the GUI from Xerox, then MS( at the time working with Apple) made a verion of the Xerox GUI and put it out on the market befor Apple got the Mac out. In the lawsuit that followed, Apple claimed the "look and feel" of there GUI was protected by copyright. The judge dismissed it.
QDOS or 86-DOS was acquired by MS for only $50,000 from SCP in July, 1981. That is where MS-DOS(The best OS ever made) came from.
My whole point was there is NO stealing at all. If a computer implements a blu ray drive you dont call them a thief, so why call ms a thief for this. They're just being smart.
+ ms will stay with ther dvd-dl for game media, so no danger to you ps3ers.
Damn i don't remember last generation being this stupid.
and whats this ***** with sides, this isn't a *****ing gang war!!
Sure it is. That's why they've got colors, your blu's and red's. lol
Truth be told though, people don't take time to look at specs any more, they just buy brand names. We are living in a trendy generation.
For example, I didn't really feel that Halo 3 brought anything new to the table other than some more detailed character models. Level detail still suffers, and so did the play time. They really made it for online play and just pasted a story on to the end of it.
everyone talks about stealing ideas from each other but it was the dreamcast that was way ahead of it's time with the first home gaming system to use the internet for an online gaming. b4 it went belly up it was going to put out a dvd drive for it to watch movies and the idea of the vmu was a great idea. think both sony and ms owe sega for coming up with the whole concept of online gaming on home systems.
[passes spliff to CrYpT]
The Dreamcast is still one of my favorite systems. It's great to play imports on
u all r fighting over hd-dvd vs bluray format... ps3 uses blu ray for games and movies... x360 uses dl dvd for games and hd-dvd for movies... so what if bluray wins?... even if microsoft go on with bluray i dont think they r going to remake every game into bluray... and what about the people who still is g2 own a dl dvd x360?... thats just stupid.
..my 360 for games and not movies, so buying an addon disk player isn't gonna happen for either format. Looks like Sony might finally be coming out with there "game-player add-on" for their BluRay player finally in 08' ...so they might eventually see some of my $$$
And this sequel to Beta vs VHS is funny to me considering downloads and hard drives seem to be where the whole industry is heading anyway. Not right away but not far off.
I laugh...I'm too lazy to search for it, but I remember reading an article where XBots were saying siht like "M$ would never go BD! Why the F would they wanna pay royalties to $ony? That's like saying Pepsi paying CocaCola to be a supplier, etc, etc."
*Sigh*
M$ is smart not implementing the HD-DVD in their XBlowx711. A BD add-on was surely in their plans as a back-up option...so sad that they had to waste money with their HD-DVD technology. Next up, they're gonna make their Live version of "Home" and call it "CRIB!" FTW
You need a girlfriend too.
look though ms can be bastards i have never seen the 360 as trash its good ms hasnt forced people to do anything unlike sonys you must have blu ray you must do this that the other. Take note one of the many reasons ive never given ps3 credit is because sony lied more than all politicians in the world 10x over sonys false promises have astounded me but when i hear ms being called liars sony hasnt got a sensual background either to go on.....
now thats over and done with onto the issue. i believe this is good consumers should the hd format fail which despite propaganda is still holding firm, only time can tell if it will fall or if bluray dies first, either way ms is providing the consumer an option (unlike sonys blu ray of die stratergy)
ps i am biast towards 360 but i wouldnt be if sony could have been truthful about their product and not confusing shipped with sold.
IDK, but i can't help but laugh at the fact that before the PS3 came out Xbox fanboys would go online and devote pages and pages heralding their precious systems. Now that the ps3 is out, gradually picking up steam, getting praise for its Blu-ray format, and racking up some nice exclusives, all i hear from those same xbox fanboys is "shut up you loser ps3 fanboys" as slowly the spot light shifts away. lol I really don't know who's dumber. I personally own a ps3, Love it. I've also spent a generous amount of time with the xbox (even thou it didn't meet my expectations, halo 3 is one *****ing addictive game, well until call of duty 4 took it's place on my ps3), respect it. The only negative thing i can say about the xbox is that, do you really have to charge for xbox live, they couldn't cut us some slack for once.
