It seems like things on the surface aren't as smooth as they are. Previously scheduled to roll out as early as this month, Microsoft Surface has now been delayed to early next year. The table-top touch-screen computers from Microsoft were trickier to produce than foreseen.
Apparently, it all boils down to the demands of their many - hundreds of, even! - clients and the development of software.
Specifically, ever since Microsoft revealed Surface last May, they've already gotten over 2,000 inquiries from various companies spanning 50 countries and 25 kinds of industries, asking if they could use their Microsoft's new technology in their establishment.
Due to the sheer number of clients that they have clamoring for Surface, Microsoft has to produce dozens of client-specific software that's specially tailored to meet each establishment's needs. "What we have found out is this is not a one-size-fits-all solution," said Mark Bolger, senior director in Microsoft's Surface computing unit.
Now, despite these hitches in development (which also include the hardware aspects of the table - its size, height, etc.), Bolger and his team are still very much enthusiastic about rolling out the revolutionary interactive computers.
