Metroid

Ninja9393 has released an updated version of his homebrew game for the PSP, Metroid: Return of the SA-X, updating it to version 2.0 today. This 2.0 update adds some great new animation, making an amazing difference to the overall quality of the graphics, as well as the addition of another room that you can enter amongst other features. Here's the changelog:
  • New animation
  • Ability to go into 2 rooms (walk through the blue door)
  • Health bar
  • Game over screen
  • The ability to kill yourself using r trigger
  • More organized scripts
You can also expect missiles (due to a few issues) and music in version 2.5 which will be released at a later date.

better than your last release of the homebrew.
please dont keep releasing stuff though untill you have a decent amount of work done. like a full level.

add scrolling and collision detection, that'd be the shiz nit.

and no, i'm not a hater and yes, i can code. i'm just offering advice!!

Doesn't anyone care that this breaks copyright?? People can not just make and release a game using characters owned by someone else?!?!

OMFG!
THE GAME DOES NOT BREAK THE LAW AT ALL!
THE CREATOR DOES NOT MAKE ANY MONEY FROM IT, OR ANY GAIN AT ALL!
IT WOULNDT BE ILLIGLE IF HE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT METROID, AND GAVE IT AWAY FOR FREE!
IT WOULD BE IF HE WERE TO SELL IT HOWEVER!!

so please ppl, know the law, know who your talking to, and get your info right

also, ninja9393, you should have IM'ed me to say this one was out! i was going to make the missle gfx transparent for you... :(

 » Yes it does

It does break the law of copyright and IP regardless of whether its free or not. Eg Grid Wars vs Geometry Wars Evolved: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/17/bizarre-defends-going-after-geometry-wars-clones/

ya stupids, its illegal to use the graphics from the original

by it is Fan made sprites (Unregistered) - 2006-08-21

it is Fan made sprites
not the original charecters
nothing ilegal about it because i didnt get riped sprites

1. Those don't look like fan-made sprites to me. I've played Fusion, and the doors look exactly like the ones from Fusion.

2. Don't use major version numbers for updates like this. "Music and missiles" should be in 0.02, not 2.5. What do you think v1.0 releases are for? v1.0 is when it's finished. This, obviously, is not, and will lead to people artificially judging its quality based on that.

who cares how i do my numbers

i can do anything i want it is my game
