Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld - Image 1It was a neck and neck battle as Media Create tallied the numbers for this week's "hardware king" of Japan. The latest chart sales, covering the week of March 10 to March 16, had Sony's PlayStation Portable dominating with 57,651 units sold.

Nintendo's Wii console and DS Lite handheld followed closely behind with 55,845 and 53,266 units sold respectively. Other competitors were left far behind with the PS3, PS2, and the Xbox 360 trailing the pack.
  • PSP - 57,651
  • Wii - 55,845
  • DS Lite - 53,266
  • PS3 - 14,934
  • PS2 - 9,930
  • Xbox 360 - 1,744
It's interesting to note that none of the top software sales for the week included any PSP titles, with DS Beautiful Letter Training taking the top spot for this week. Anyway, keep coming back to this spot for more updates on the latest software and hardware sales numbers in Japan.
