CameraHot on the heels of the amazing plasma touch screen posted yesterday by Chris A, comes this fantastic little device. Fit a projector into a mobile phone? Most people would laugh at the thought. Now, Light Blue Optics Ltd will actually be making this possible with their new technology. They have produced a miniature laser projector dubbed PVPro™ that is aimed to be used with mobile phones, PC, personal media players, and digital camera's.

The PVPro doesn't have any of the traditional limitations of normal projectors, so there are no lenses, no lamps, no color wheels and no moving parts. The use of lasers mean that even power consumption is kept to an unconceivable 1.5 Watts at full power! Even with normal video use, power consumption is a low 350 milliwatts.

The applications for such a miniature projector are endless, and although the initial prototypes and production variants are monochrome it is certain that color projectors will soon follow.  Cool tech!
