MarketplaceCopyright owners use an array of technologies called Digital Rights Management to protect their properties. In this way, restrictions are placed on use of digital data and control access.

You might be wondering now, what's the deal with DRM and X360 anyway. It came to our attention that some people have a good reason to believe the Marketplace videos may actually expire after some time.

The logic for that line of thinking lies very well in the seemingly harmless note, "Does not expire." It may sound ridiculous at first, they reckon, but why put "does not expire" if expiry dates are not being planned at all? It's a bit confusing we know. Please do take some time to understand.

If these speculations are true, many are thinking that this could be in preparation for new Marketplace content. A music download service? TV episodes? Rare, hard to find gaming-related materials? We do not know for sure.

According to these people, they tried contacting Microsoft for clarifications but up to this time, are unable to do so. Regardless, you might want to head over your console now and enjoy the said videos. We'll tell you more as things get clearer.
