Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1The previous release of the homebrew application LuaPlayer HM for the PlayStation Portable had the dev asking for help from anyone who knew how to use adhoc. Another homebrew coder, PiCkDaT, offered a helping hand, and so LuaPlayer HM version 5 has now been released.

This version now has Adhoc function courtesy of PiCkDaT. Aside from this very promising development, homebrew developer Homemister has also added WiFi ability to the player. You can now select and add new wireless networks.

Wireless Functions
  • Wlan.init() Enables the Wireless and lets you select the network
  • Wlan.term() Disables the Wireless.
  • Wlan.getIP() Gets IP address after wifi is initiated eg ipadress=Wlan.getIP()
Adhoc Functions
  • Adhoc.init() Enables the Adhoc
  • Adhoc.term() Terminates the Adhoc
  • Adhoc.connect()
  • Adhoc.send()
  • Adhoc.recv()
  • Adhoc.getState()
Socket Functions
  • Socket.connect()
  • Socket.createServerSocket()
  • Socket.isConnected()
  • Socket.accept()
  • Socket.send()
  • Socket.recv()
  • socket.close()
  • Included test file
But if these new features still don't impress you, then maybe you'd want to wait for the next release of LuaPlayer HM. The homebrew dev is planning to include a built-in LuaPlayer Updater which will automatically check for and install new versions of the homebrew app. The next build will also have better Eboot support. Homemister also informs us that starting from this version, the dev will be working with PiCkDaT and they'll be releasing the homebrew app for the Sony PlayStation Portable as a team.

You can download LuaPlayer HM version 5 by following the link below. Make sure that you go through the readme file for the installation instructions, credits, and a complete documentation of the latest version.

 » OMG.

FINALLY!
Thanks SO MUCH to the developers of LuaPlayer HM, I've wanted to implement ad-hoc in my projects for so long!

 » Adhoc

Your welcome, it was actually pretty easy to implement. It took forever to get it in lua though because I wasn't too good with C++... So I ended up putting it in a C file and linked it with a header.. lol.. yeah I only sat at my computer for 10 hours each day for two days lol.
