A slip up at the Codemasters community forums led to the "unveiling" of the new Logitech G27. The Community Manager mistakenly listed in the G27 as part of the controllers and wheels list that  DiRT 2 (PS3, Xbox 360PC, Wii, DS and PSP) supposedly supports. Predictably so, the post was immediately edited, but not before one determined reader, Homerfreak, took a screencap of it for proof.

Proof

Now, GTPlanet is saying that they can "independently verify their authenticity for now." They did not give anything else to substantiate on that, but they did say that we might as well watch out for the development of these wheels, cos it's just too probable that it will be coming out roughly the same time as (the Ohgwawd-is-it-ever-gonna-get-here) Gran Turismo 5. You know, cos they're oober close with Polyphony Digital too.

Anyhow, while specs for these peripherals are in no way confirmed absolutely, here are a couple of things you might as well expect to see, so they say:
  • Thicker steering wheel.
  • 6 buttons on the wheel.
  • Shift indicator lights
Pictures, anyone? Am sure.

My friend has the watered down version of this controller. He brought it over and I strapped it to my desk and played GT5 Prologue on my 24inch HD screen. HOLY CRAP! The steering wheel almost bucked me to the floor when i hit another player and then a wall (i suck at racing games =P). If this is much better then It be fun to build a frame for ....

Its cool that they are upgrading but not by a lot I have a G25 Steering Wheel $260 and I can make due without a shift indicator light or a thicker steering wheel. Most of the games I play have lights on the screen and when you are playing GT prologue on a 52' 120hz tv all I can say Forza 3 you are in trouble.
