Rondo villain - Image 1

On Symphony of the Night's tenth anniversary, Dracula X: Rondo of Blood - the true predecessor of Symphony - will make its way to America. It will be released as a 3D remake for the PSP in the form of Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles.

Now before you rejoice or decry this as another graphical enhancement of a long awaited classic, read a bit more, because apparently Konami has a lot more prepared for us. 1UP reports that Chronicles will also include the original 2D version of Rondo, and will also include a straight port of Symphony of the Night.

Yeah, a little extra something, just for the fans.

Konami is targeting a fall release date. Leaving them plenty of time to polish this mouth-watering collection. A small gameplay clip is to be had if you click on our "Read" link below. Just to keep all of you folks who know the answer to the question "What is a man?" waiting.

Richter: Die monster! You don't belong in this world!
Dracula: It was not by my hand that I am once again given flesh. I was called here by humans who wish to pay me tribute.
Richter: Tribute!?! You steal men's souls, and make them your slaves!
Dracula: Perhaps the same could be said of all religions.
Richter: Your words are as empty as your soul! Mankind ill-needs a savior such as you!
Dracula: What is a man? *tosses a goblet to the floor which breaks* A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk... have at you!

 » lol.

quite possibly the best exchange between hero and villain, ever.

damn that was some horrible voice acting. i still have my original Symphony of the Night (bought when it first released!), but i will buy this game, if only to have it on my PSP, and to get a chance to play the real Rondo of Blood.

sure, i play SOTN on my PSP now, but i'd much rather have a hardcopy (so i can free up the room on my memory stick!).

 » Hell yes!

Holy crap! That is too awesome! I was walking home from work tonight, thinking "How freaking awesome would it be if they had a SotN port in the PSP version of Dracula X?".

This definitely puts the PSP ahead of DS in terms of Castlevania, as far as I'm concerned. =D

Although I already have this on my PSP, the sound is buggy(PC-Engine emulator). I will still buy this, cuz thats a nice 3-in-1 combo. Wish someone would polish up that PC-Engine emulator though... nothing pwns more than having original games/systems working on PSP. CPS1&2 anyone?
