Kojima - Image 1 Konami icon Hideo Kojima's appearance at the GO3 sent shockwaves through the game community as his speech was the unbilled main event of the aforementioned conference.

When Kojima talks, everyone listens. Not only is his creative genius highly respected, fans and media alike are looking for the slightest clues and traces of news regarding the upcoming PS3 heavyweight Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Kojima's speech was accompanied by a video presentation, which made the crowd drool over the prospect of a new trailer or an announcement. The talk began in earnest a little past three in the afternoon and kicked off with a discussion on game innovation.

Kojima emphasized that in the 80's where every game was either about jumping or shooting, Metal Gear defied the norms. He presented it on the screen, then moved to the next chapters in the series. After doing a demo on the Metal Gear Solid series in the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2, he moved to what everyone was waiting for.

He presented a trailer of MGS4 released some months ago. The trailer stars the faded version of Solid Snake and ends with the hero holding a gun in his mouth. Kojima then moves to screens of game systems that they have developed for.

The speech ended without any fresh details on the upcoming game, but don't fret because we'll keep you posted if anything comes up.

With the troubling of Sony PlayStation 3 exclusives now going on multi-platform, the announcement comes today that Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will indeed come to the Xbox 360. Xbox 360 owners will have the opportunity to experience an acclaimed franchise from legendary game designer Hideo Kojima. Information is scarce of what the Xbox 360 port will have over the PlayStation 3.

It's still a day early for an April fools joke so let's just wait and see if it pans out.
