Nintendo's 2007 line-up for the Wii - Image 1The video game line-up for 2007 was announced by none other than the president of Nintendo, Mr. Satoru Iwata, himself. In a press conference, he gave the skinny on the games as well as discussing Nintendo's finances. Aside from his two key points in his talk, he gave word that Nintendo has 79 DS titles and 45 Wii titles currently in development.

That's a lot of games, and it seems that Iwata intends on capitalizing on the fact that the company's products have been selling very well. Anyway, we're not going to keep you waiting, here are the games slated for the Wii in Japan this year:

If you're from Europe or the US, you're probably wondering why you should care? Well, if it's released in Japan, there is a chance that it'll be heading to your part of the world soon as well. If it's any consolation, the games that are sure to hit the US include Mario Party 8 on May 29, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree on June 11, Pokemon Battle Revolution on June 25, and Mario Strikers Charged this summer. Mario and Sonic at the Olympics will also be released this year, though no date has been given. Of course, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will also be released. It's been said the Metroid might actually be hitting the US before Japan, so Wii gamers may want to watch out for it.

The line-up is has some pretty big name games, which should provide a financial boost for Nintendo. This is good news for the company since one of the recent complaints that have been surfacing is the fact that there are so few great games to sustain the public's interest on the system. Well, once the games on the list are released, perhaps Nintendo can put an end to that argument.
