Sonic Rush Adventure or The Hunt for Red Chaos Emerald) (DS), Sega - Image 1

Sega announces Sonic Rush Adventure - but hey, people were guessing that wold be the title anyway. Bet they weren't expecting the announcement so soon, though.

Sonic Rush Adventure will feature the same 2D action featured in Sonic Rush, but the "Adventure" part here might not have anything to do with the Sonic Adventure series. New is a touchscreen-enabled "high seas adventure" gameplay section where you sail across waters, search for buried treasure, and fight villainous pirates led by Eggman Metal Sonic Captain Whisker. Sonic and Tails get to crew five sailable ships, including a water bike, a hovercraft, and a submarine. A submarine?

FUTURE HEADLINE: Missile sub Red Chaos Emerald defects to USA; Soviet fleet in pursuit.

Sonic Rush Adventure will also support Wi-Fi and Download Play for racing and mission-based battles. The game's developed by SEGA Studios and should sail to stores in Autumn 2007.
