Homestar

We reported about the crazy new PSP title called Homestar: 21st Century Navigator a few days ago, and suffice to say, more than enough people just can't imagine how a Planetarium might look on the PSP. Well, the newest Famitsu issue has a feature of the "game" so you can see how it works in practice.

For me, these screens look rather dull, but you never know, when a popular Japanese mag runs a two-page preview on it, it must be something... still, because of the sheer obscurity of this title, chances of a release outside Japan are very low. Makes me wonder about all the other interesting PSP software the Japanese regularily get that we may never hear of...

what wold you guys do if you came to the relazation all the good or unique psp games never get released outside of japan, and the American market only gets gta/50cent reharshes and madden/sports games as well as racing? would yous till keep the psp? or opt for the ds which almost all the titles are quirky and unique?

 » @3 I'm not worried

I'm Chinese, there are always people out that are translating good JAP games into Chinese, no matter what the platform it is released on. :)

There's always importing, since the games aren't region coded, right?

I thought it was the same Homestar too! :D And I thought he'd be dressed in a spacesuit or something.

@3, almost all of the titles on DS are ports of games for the old nintendo systems. Let me see, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, New Super Mario Bros...

those are only two examples, and mario kart isnt a port its a brand new game in the series, and most psp games arent just ports they are watered down ports that cost more than the ps2 version.

Very interesting concept. Let's hope that they'll decide to bring it over to the English-speaking community soon.

Strangler, once you register here, then I'll pay attention to you. Also, start paying attention in English

Also, Mario Kart is essentially a port, even though it has a few new tracks, it's still got a lot of tracks from MK: DD, MK64, and the GBA Mario kart.

Also, the PSP games are cheaper than the PS2 versions. The only exception i know of is GTA: LCS, and that's because the PS2 version is a port; not the PSP version.

Tell me what's NOT original about LocoRoco. It's much better than those gay games like "HOW OLD IS YOUR BRAIN?" That's just a stupid idea... WOW, SuDoKu and brain teasers... ON A TOUCH SCREEN :O

My opinion? Sony should put LocoRoco out. They should do waht nintendo do: when ever you see a Nintendo logo, Mario isn't far from it. If they want to make LocoRoco really popular, even make it a killer app, they just need to advertise them. LocoRoco has heaps of potential!
