most games are burned on regulard discs prior to actual shipping. when i worked at Activision and Square, we went through new burns of games on a weekly basis. the PS3 ships in about 3 and a half weeks, i expect the final discs for the launch titles are being stamped as we speak. it takes at least 2 weeks to make the discs, and one week to package and ship them all to retailers (including printing final instruction booklets and boxart).

Like you said. And besides only the test ps3 's can read those. A normal ps3 can 't read that. It 's the same like with ps2 review disk (they looked blue like the opm demos).

Its just that when burned they use different booktypes to show its a CD-R/DVD-R HD DVD-R BD-R or just the same without the R.
Games get burned with a special burner. Its special enough that it can burn data that cant be read from a normal DVD drive. thats why burned games dont work on un-modded systems besides the dreamcast.
You can buy silver bottom CD-Rs, Gold Bottom DVD-Rs and the such and burn to them with normal burners. i got the 499 version from japan and it does come with an HDMI. Even check on the PS3's website and it'll show you. The ps3 has a menu just like the psp with internet browser, movies, music, games, settings, and an online community for free. so it kicks microsoft in the butt, 'cause it's way better and the graphics are in 1080p!

The lead in the bottom-right is a US power lead. I believe the PS3 has a multi-voltage power board like an LCD TV, so it will work with any mains power straight out of the box.
The Japanese PS3 is out 11th November and neither model will come with an HDMI lead, there or anywhere else, unless Sony does a special bundle.
