The Hamster Channel - Image 1

Nintendo DS owners may have cute adorable dogs, but we've got cute adorable hamsters! (arguably more appropriate for a hand-held device)

The Hamster Channel is virtual pet game by HI Games & Publishing and will be available on the PlayStation Portable for download only. The game will be released in Japan sometime in mid-December and will cost JP¥ 2,800. Plans for an international edition are already in the works though no solid details are available yet.

The game is presented in something akin to a television program format not unlike a typical Japanese variety show. Your randomly generated Hamster will be shown in a number of different "channels," each depicting a different scenario or environment. Speaking from experience, beware the hamster running on its wheel. It's mildly hypnotic.

HI Games claims that The Hamster Channel will have the highest level of 3D visuals for a virtual pet game to date.
