Gran Turismo 5 - Image 1It's about time: the famous Daytona International Speedway finally makes it to the selection of available courses in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and we just couldn't help but wonder why it took this long for Sony's top-tier racing title to hit the hot Daytona roads.

The Japanese GT 5 Prologue demo will be out on October 10, but there won't be any signs of Daytona just yet. The demo will feature the GT-R car zipping through the Suzuka Circuit, and if you're itching to get your hands on the demo as soon as possible, you need to figure out how to access the Japanese PlayStation Store first.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be made available on both Blu-ray and PlayStation Network starting on December 13. The Blu-ray disc of the game will cost 4,980 yen (US$ 43) a pop, while the downloadable version can be bought for only 4,500 yen (US$ 39). Considering that this is just a sampler for the real, full Gran Turismo 5, the prices are a tad steep, but it sure did quash the previous pricing rumors.

However, there's a reason behind the steep price. Famitsu reported that developer Polyphony included a GT.TV mode that will let players view various car programs from around the world (for a price, however). Online play will be available as well, for up to 16 players. Chat and friend list will be added in later updates to enhance the gamer experience in Prologue.

Already excited? Keep in mind that this is just the Prologue. More updates to come!
