Ghostbusters cast - Image 1Dust off those proton pacs and jumpsuits, for UK based Nintendo gamer mag Ngamer has just recently announced that Red Fly Studios has already begun working on the Wii version of the much awaited Ghostbusters video game.

The Ghostbusters game Wii version will have both a single and multiplayer mode. The single player mode will have more than 10 levels to explore where gamers will find themselves in settings such as the streets of New York during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, a library basement, a graveyard, and "Lost Island." Also included in the single player mode are four player co-op and one-on-one modes and as well as a series of mini games such as Shuffleboard, Ghost Trap, and Proton Packs.

On the other hand, the multi player mode will feature a two-versus-two battle mode where in teams can chose between catching the most ghosts or to smash up the most furniture in order to win.

Gamers who are also fans of the Ghostbusters movies will be ecstatic to know that the game will be set back in the year 1991, based on events which transpired two years after what happened in the original's sequel, Ghostbusters 2. So expect to see in the game the ginormous Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man , the legendary Ectomobile, and the creepy, old lady in the library - all seen in the first Ghostbusters movie.

Aside from scooting over to the Wii, the Ghostbusters game will also be made available for release for the DS,PC,PS 2, PS 3, and the Xbox 360 sometime by December of 2008. Stay tuned for more info.

 » Wii remote....

What happens if you cross the streams?
Does the Wii remote shake violently?

Also, are you going to be fighting each other with the proton packs, or is it going to be some sort of challenge mode in the one-on-one portion of this game?

(I always wondered what exactly would happen if a human got hit with the beam from the proton pack. Doesn't seem like it would be any kind of radiation damage, seeing as how the Ghostbusters themselves are always so near the beams and don't wear protective suits.)

 » WTF!?!?!?!?!

Hum....that's a lot of consoles!

I know it's too much to ask but I hope they dev the PS3 and PC versions separately from 360 and Wii. It would be a shame to have those console bring down the PS3 and PC with their sub-rate quality.

 » Huh?

If this is going to take place after Ghostbusters 2, why would we still see the Stay Puff Marshmellow man?

That's exactly what I was wondering as well!

I guess the story will take us there :)
