GameTap - Image 1 GameTap is looking for independent programmers and game makers to come up with the best of the best. They've come up with an additional label where they intend to showcase Indie Games for their digital distribution service.

They're definitely catering to the indie scene with the launch of their new programs. Called GameTap Indies, the new program will promote the best indie games to its GameTap userbase. At the same time, they're also stimulating game development by sponsoring the GameTap Indie Award, which will be presented at the 2007 Independent Games Festival Awards.

Said Ricardo Sanchez, GameTap's VP for content:

With GameTap Indies, we are giving developers and publishers the chance to put their game in front of an audience that otherwise might not see it. There is a lot of innovation happening in gaming today that can only thrive on the hard drives and computer screens of gamers because of the boundless broadband frontier. With GameTap’s expansive reach and unique model, we will be able to offer forward thinking game designers a platform for success.
