GameCock Media Group, a publisher of independent games, plans on taking down E3 with their new expo. E.I.E.I.O. as it's called, stands for Expo for Interactive Entertainment: Independent and Original.

Essentially, the event is also being staged in response to the E3 invitations list which, as GameCock pointed out, had a shortage of independent game developers. Members of the press received a short message from the company which pretty much gives the skinny on what it's about.

Gamecock is all about promoting the artists and bringing original games into this bloated and originality-starved industry. Gamecock is talking about plans for an E.I.E.I.O. - Expo for Interactive Entertainment: Independent and Original - Fun Fest 2007 - to be held on the same days as E3. What do you think? It would be great to have an event that supports the "uninvited" - the industry's best and most talented studios.
