Got an HD-DVD player and you're not sure what to do with it? Well, if you're in Canada, Future Shop has an intriguing solution for those who want to make the switch to Blu-ray. They recently sent out a press release that offered consumers a chance to trade in their HD-DVD players for store credit.
Here's the announcement from the press release:
From March 7th to April 3rd, customers who own HD DVD players - whether purchased at Future Shop, or another retailer - are invited to return their HD DVD player to a Future Shop location and receive CAD$ 100 off either an LG or Samsung Blu-ray / HD DVD Combo player....
Returned HD DVD Players will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of
Canada for use in their after-school and evening programs. There are
over 700 service locations of the Boys and Girls Clubs across Canada.
Certainly a good deal, don't you think? Not only do you get some credit towards getting a Blu-ray player, but that same player also lets you play the HD-DVD discs that you already have. Not only that, but it's also helping a worthwhile charity.
Note that this is subject also to availability and is an in-store promo, so you should probably call up the Future Shop nearest you to see if the deal is still on.
