Like the Xbox360 controller but have a PlayStation 3 console? No problem. Modder Benjamin Heckendorn combined the look and feel of an Xbox 360 controller and planted in it the guts of a PlayStation Dualshock 3. The result, as you can see, is some form of super race for next-gen console controllers. Ben calls it the PS360 Controller.
Along with the other, more obvious modifications, he also replaced those hard-to-press Xbox 360 analog L/R triggers. Although the rumble motors in the picture are from the Dualshock 3, Ben reports that the Xbox 360 motors work just as well. The D-pad you see in the picture is from the original PlayStation 3 controller. You can order these controllers (or other mods) at Ben's website in the source link below. Related Articles: |

Although I totally admire the works of Ben Heck, from his 360 and PS3 laptop projects, but this is VERY VERY old news, he did this well over a year ago (probably more) as he finds the 360 controller more comfortable so gutted it and made it SIXAXIS inside, I prefer the PS pad myself but each to their own.

Second of all, I would appreciate a mod done the other way: put 360 components inside a DualShock3. I don't understand the love for the silly non-symmetrical design of the 360 controller. Not only is the overall controller much bigger and heavier, but (personally) I find the placement of the left analog highly uncomfortable during play.
I'd love to be able to (essentially) run a DualShock3 on 360. It might even convince me to dust-off the 360 more often. ;-)
