First public confirmation of Blizzard's next-gen MMO - Image 1We all know that Blizzard is working on a top-secret video game title currently under the veil of the tag "next-gen MMO". But the million dollar question is what specific IP this project is all about.

Some have speculated before that this is just Blizzard's fancy way of saying World of Warcraft expansion. However, that theory has already been debunked because the Wrath of the Lich King expansion was already made known.

Drysc was recently pressed about the matter and responded, saying, "It is an unannounced Next-Gen MMO. And that doesn't mean an expansion for World of Warcraft either".

While the job postings had been up for almost a year now, this is actually the first time a Blizzard employee has publicly confirmed that Blizzard is working on something new.

With WoW out of the way and Starcraft II under development, the only remaining franchise is Diablo.

We're not saying that this is going to be a Diablo MMO though (that would somehow feel a lot like Hellgate: London when you really think about it) but the choices are currently quite limited. Keep checking back here for the latest development on this.

 » Choices are quite limited???

What, is Blizzard only allowed to work on new versions of old games? Has it become illegal for them to start a whole new game?

 » If its another Diablo

I hope and pray that they keep the original style and feel. I don't want another World of Warcraft style of MMO

BTW i still play Diablo 2, it has yet to leave my computer since i started playing it, and I feel as if it is the best game Blizz has ever come out with.
