It looks like Lair developer Factor 5 and Haze dev Free Radical may be sharing more than just a disappointing PS3 title. Following recent confirmation of Free Radical's bankruptcy, we how have rumors of Factor 5 closing down. According to Kotaku, IGN's Matt Casamassina received and posted the following email on the IGN boards: (Casamassina) [I w]as hoping the rumors weren’t true. Contacted Julian over at F5 to shed some light, but he didn’t get back to me. Got an e-mail from an inside source tonight: “Hi Matt, How have you been? Haven’t seen you guys since E3. I hope that you’re doing well! [Redacted] wanted me to contact you with some late breaking news. We just learned from inside sources that developer Factor 5 has officially closed their doors as of today. That’s some pretty big news considering that those guys have been around for quite a while. It’s definitely a real shame! I hope that this information is helpful to you. Take care, and please say hi to Bozon for me.” Man, lots of bad news this Christmas, especially for the guys who actually work at these companies. As for gamers, well, nobody will probably miss a Lair sequel, but that wasn't Factor 5's only game. If this turns out to be true, say bye-bye to any new Turrican or Rogue Squadron games. 2009 could be a very bad year for closures.

» oh my god.
at this rate their wont be anymore devs left! How can the economy ever bounce back from all this...
I'm seriously scared for the future of America. The car industry is dead. The gaming industry is being severely crippled. Those two are among America's top!

Everything is so messed up right now. Everything. Dunno if we'll ever even pull out of this Depression/Economic Slump.

despite what ppl said Lair isn't really all that bad once you get past the learning curve. Sigh.

» i actually loved Lair
i viewed the controls as just a challenge and not an annoyance, some gamers just don't want to take time in mastering a game.

I Think Lair is a very good title. Sure the controls very *****ed up, but they fixed it with a patch!!!!
That's why I think the reviews are unfair. they gave it a bad reputation, but after the patching you could control the dragon with the analog sticks.
