With just a couple of months to go before this year's GC Developers Conference (GCDC), reports are beginning to trickle in on who's expected to make an appearance.

The GCDC organizers have sent word that Epic Games president Michael Capps (aka Mike Capps) is expected to keynote the event.

What makes this news more interesting is the keynote's topic: Capps intends to use his speech to discuss Epic's upcoming title, Gears of War 2. As Capps said regarding this matter:

Epic set the technological bar for next-generation games with the original Gears of War, so we knew we had our work cut for us with Gears of War 2. We look forward to sharing with our peers what we have learned so far from this incredible experience.

As a recap, Capps has previously told the attendees of last month's New York Comic-Con that the game was in its pre-alpha stages. We're hoping that Capps will be using August's event to give us a sit-rep on how far the game's progressed so far.
