Ó

Lunar eclipse - Image 1 It's time to dust off your neglected telescopes, because the moon's going to turn blood red tomorrow.

According to NASA, we'll have a Lunar Eclipse coming our way tomorrow night, and the moon will take on a hue of orange red to blood red for a few hours. Certainly a sight to behold, but please do take note that seeing a blood-red moon doesn't mean that the world is coming to an end.

NASA also added that the absence of recent volcanic eruptions will mean that people will be able to see the Moon take on more vivid hues, with no volcanic gas or dust to filter out the sun's light.

Everyone on the planet will be able to watch this crimson spectacle, with the exception of most parts of Europe and Africa. However, those who wouldn't be able to watch the upcoming eclipse will have more chances in the future, and the soonest will be next year's February 21.

You don't get many chances to see the moon turn blood red, so better take some time to go moon-gazing tomorrow night.

Mountain time (UT, CO, ID, AZ, NM) time it will begin at 2:51 when the moon enters the penumbra (the partial shadow of the earth) and will begin to enter the umbra at 3:52am. The complete eclipse will last for about 90 minutes. A Lunar eclipse typically lasts for about 3.5 hours. So, there you go!
