Dan Hsu - Image 1In light of editorial integrity and the issues surrounding it, Electronic Gaming Monthly's (EGM) Editor-in-Chief Dan Hsu named three major developers and their publishers who didn't like the gaming magazine's reviews and banned it from further coverage of other products.

Ubisoft, Sony's sports game division, and Midway's Mortal Kombat development team were all named as culprits in the latest issue of EGM. EGM won't treat the said companies and their products differently, stated Hsu. Reportedly, the three companies stopped sending game-related goods to the magazine anyway.

Over a month has passed after GameSpot's long-time editor Jeff Gerstman was fired because of what most believe as pressure from publisher Eidos, but it seems the shockwave he left is still stirring up doubts within gamers. We can't help but give our kudos to Dan Hsu, and here's hoping more publications like EGM reveal what's going on behind the glittering reviews of games consumers put their money on.

The Shock waves from Gerstman Blast seems to cause a lot of side effects. It's good to know there is one person behind the publications we read on a constant, isn't afraid to Kick sand in the face of the bullies. If the game SUCKS we are all gonna know about it. Word of Mouth gets out about a bad game and people avoid it. This is the perfect opportunity for these developers to really make great games. I abhor those movie Tie in games.. and even more when we all know they suck but we see a lukewarm reviews. Nonetheless these developers need to understand that Gamer aren't idiots. We care about what we buy with our hard earned cash. just some shiny plastic and some nice cover art with a name we all know from the past isn't going to cut it anymore.

I'm a gamer and it's about time that the truth has seen the light of day. Bring on the Best game possible.. don't care how long it takes.. make it Great and make it memorable.. Kane and Lynch looks great. Plays like crap and I'm glad everyone knows it.

Jeff Gerstman for PRESIDENT!!

Theres enuff sources for reviews out there that obviously do a fairer job than EGM has done. There's a reason 2 big names have pulled that privilege from EGM and I'm willing to bet that it's not just cash.

I would want to take that kinda privilege away from an incompetent fool too.

Good luck trusting reviews from any source anymore. CNet and Consumer Reports are two of the biggest source of product news and reviews, and both have been caught with their hands in the adspace bribery cookie jar.
