Bungie Software unleashed its next AAA title into the scene back at the expo, announcing the debut of Halo: Reach. While the announcement doesn't really come as a surprise, and those of you who've read Halo: The Fall of Reach may have seen this coming a mile away, the confirmation is much welcome all the same, and Halo fans out there will have a new baby to wait for.

Halo: Reach will be released waaaaay off in Fall 2010, but we're bound to get trickles of info and trailers along the way. To help the wait seem a bit shorter, buying Halo: ODST when it comes out on September 22nd will net you an invite for the Reach MP beta. Other than that, details are still pretty...well...vague to nonexistent.

When Halo: Reach was just a rumor:

Is this the game they said was bigger than Sony's announcements? bah!!!

And who might "they" be?

Personally, i'll think about this game when it gets closer to its release. Right now i'll concentrate on OSDT.

What actually are Sony's announcements going to be? GOW3? Uncharted 2? GT5?

When I saw this game I was beyond depressed that Bungie looks to be going down the eternal prequel road. And even worse it'll be game with a story pretty much already known to every Halo lore fan. Its just fan service at its finest. That may serve for some, but I say if they don't want to continue Halo's story with a Halo 4, make a new IP and stop milking the Halo name. They might end up going down the sell out road even though they tried not to.

In the beginning they didn't want to be forced to make games because they didn't want to take away from the Halo name. Now its almost like they're not making a new game to try and look all resilient but it might back fire....whatever.

Also I think when Microsoft made that statement they were referring to Metal Gear Rising. But then that would only make sense if they didn't know it wasn't exclusive.

It said it "Falls" 2010. And Beta Keys are available in 2010.

Tricky wording. It means it's coming 2010, not specifically in Fall 2010.

 » Another one?

I'm honestly getting tired of seeing another Halo game.
I mean, there's Halo 1-3, Halo Wars, this new Halo 3 spin-off (was it ODST?) and now Halo:Reach?
Seriously,
Halo is becoming another Final Fantasy -.-

» Must say I'm a huge halo fan but come on

I own the 3 games, all the halo novels and the Halo: Uprising comic series (which sucked by time btw). I refused to buy Halo wars because it sucked too. I really had hoped Bungie were going to make the 4th halo game to end it once and for all (Chief drifts over that planet that looks like coruscant if you finish halo3 on legendary). So from this we can expect, not one more spartan related halo universe game but two. We'll have reach, then we'll have Halo4. So what's this game that isn't halo related that Bungie said they're working on?

 » They won't make Halo 4

If you read what Bungie has said about that, you'll see it's more tricky wording, just like the "Falls 2010" thing. They said they won't make any more games in the "halo trilogy", and won't make more games about master chief. So they're going to make prequels that aren't part of the "trilogy", and that star all the spartans, not just the chief.

If they make a game set after Halo 3, it won't be Halo 4, it'll have a different name and not be officially part of the trilogy. That way they won't have lied lol. Bungie being Bungie
