Sony looking into native PlayStation Store for PSP - Image 1It seems Sony is really looking to up the PlayStation Portable's power in a lot of ways. At a meeting held during E3 2008, PSP Brand Manager John Koller confirmed that Sony was looking into creating a native PlayStation Store for the handheld.

Said Koller, "Having a native store on the portable is something we're looking into."

Given the rise of new media content on the PS3 and, by extension, the PSP, it certainly stands to reason that cutting out the middleman and giving direct access to the PlayStation Store via the PSP would be a good step to foster the handheld's growth.

This little announcement is also especially of note for PSP users, seeing as Jack Tretton also remarked during E3 that Sony was looking into adding a hard drive or internal memory to the PSP.

In any event, Koller also remarked on the rise of more content for the PlayStation Store. He said to "keep an eye in the next few months" for new, unannounced games and media to make their way to the store.
