With both Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi games already out for the Nintendo Wii, it's only fitting that the the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 get some Dragon Ball Z love, this time in the form of more magazine scans of Namco Bandai's Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit (PS3, Xbox 360).

It's interesting how Namco Bandai's shots seem to capture the spirit of Dragon Ball Z in the form of trash talk, poses and a wealth of chi explosions. Though it's too early to say how much of the canon Dragonball Z storyline will be included in the game, it looks like Dragonball Z: Burst Limit will at least comprise the Saiyan, Freeza and Cell sagas.

No details have been released yet as to what the combat system will be like, so stay tuned for further updates on Namco Bandai's Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit as we get them.

Those are straight up magazine scans and not screenshots. Also, I would of thought with the graphical power of the PS3/360 that they'd be able to take the genre forward in terms of visuals.

Noted with thanks. :) And yes, it seems that the PS2 and the original Xbox could manage graphics like those above. Still, these are preliminary screenies, so hopefully the end result will be much, much better.

How do you send tips. I had this tip for like 3 days now. Also, some information on Devil May Cry 4.

Nice to see QJ staff actually read comments :).

I've seen some 'CG' work done for the older budokai's that would look amazing if done on the new systems... which is kinda what I was expecting.

@ APU - in the middle column of the site (to the right of this message) there's a navigation box, in that there's a "send us news tips" link which leads to a simple form that you fill in your info with.

In game battle models look a 'lot' better than the PS2's DBZ games..

They are approaching the 3D style used in the Tenkaichi opening games p_p

 » wow

 » No they can't

Look at the AA in these graphics..they are basically aliasing-free. The Wii and the PS2 cannot and will not handle this kind of visuals without aliasing. In fact, they can't even produce these visuals. Just because the graphics look cartoony because of the cell-shading does not mean they don't take up power.

This is HD Graphics we're talking about. The Wii and PS2 can NOT produce these kind of graphics.

Considering PS3's BD Media and the 360's high end DVD media.

Is it just me or is namco doing basicly the same thing that atari was doing ? I mean I see no difference at all here. This looks like every other dbz fighter under the sun, :(

Point taken. Thare are _a lot_ of DBZ games out there, and they all feature characters from the same universe. I guess it's unavoidable that some things will look similar between games.

Again, these are preliminary screenshots, so let's pass our final judgment on the game once it is complete.

You're welcome. Thank you, too. We try to make snippets of time available for our readers. :) Work can get pretty hectic if there's a lot of news to cover, though, so please bear with us if we can't really respond as quickly as we would like to. ^^

 » Anyone

Does anyone have a guess of much this game will probably be (GBs). No, this is not a Blu-Ray vs. DVD9 debate, I am just wondering.

   Re: Stealth! - 2007-12-23
» Does it really matter at this point and time.

Its early in development, and besides its not like fighting games need alot of space or GB's.

Though the screen shots here don't look like next gen, you guys need to remember pre-alpha game pics aren't the best, and takes time to get the picture or graphics the way it should.

I mean take Killzone 2 for instance they just fixed old pics to what it looks like a few weeks ago. I have no doubt the quality will be better.

But i would really wish that Namco would make Bleach games. I mean i love bleach and would love to play a fighting game on the PS3.
