Here is the first batch of screenshots from the upcoming game Dead Space for platforms Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is being developed by Electronic Arts' studio Redwood Shores using Unreal Engine 3. The game is a science fiction FPS set in a survival horror setting.

According to previous reports, Dead Space revolves around the story of space engineer Isaac Clarke. What happened was his company received a distress call from the USG Ishimura, a spacecraft designed to extract valuable ores from dead planets. As it turns out, the ship has been infested by a mysterious alien race.

While EA has yet to name a specific release date for Dead Space, it was mentioned that it will come out some time during Fall of 2008. In the mean while, just enjoy the screenshots below.
