Suspects left digital camera behind revealing their identities - Image 1Legendary video game designer and programmer Lord British Richard Garriott recently had his compound burgled by up-to-no-good teenagers. According to reports, the suspects went into Garriott's private property and stole bottles of wine and alcohol which amounts to US$ 5,000.

What's striking about this report is that the suspects unwittingly left a digital camera behind, containing their very own photos and various images of them partying in the said property. Garriott reacted,

We were debating whether we would even report this to police until we discovered the digital camera sitting on the porch of one of the cabins broken into. We we're joking to ourselves about tomorrow morning, when they wake up with a hangover, they're going to wonder where that camera is. This is one of those Darwin-style kind of awards, where people leave the self-incriminating evidence behind at the scene.

According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, this is actually the second break-in on Garriott's property in two years. And regarding the crime, the investigators commented that this ranks pretty high on their list of dumb criminals, nearly on par with leaving a wallet or driver’s license on the scene.

On a more serious note though, Garriott lamented that he now finds it necessary to equip the place with electronic security and surveillance system. This is, according to Lord British, to make sure that people don't come to the place anymore.

If you can identify any of the people in the pictures posted above, kindly call Crimestoppers at 472-TIPS. You can receive a reward of up to US$ 1,000.

 » OH MY GOD

They drank $5,000 in ancient wines and partied? How would someone who can afford a 'compound' (David Koresh style) ever recover from such a loss?

Lord bs should be thankful the drunks didn't tumble down his 100-ft elevator shaft he has dug there and pretty much abandoned. Then he'd have to deal with a lawsuit! I'll bet these kids were former "guests" at one of his Mad Max parties when Satan's Cheerleaders show up.
