Great news guys! For those who are still having issues with the latest custom firmware 5.50GEN update, Yoshihiro and and the rest of Team Gen will release a quick updater for 5.50GEN-D. This update will fix various problems encountered by some users like online issues, video output on some games and the recovery menu. Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-D2 changelog:

and if youre so dedicated to such old thing then by all means, never update you phat and most of all never whine coz psp homebrew devs are not in any way obligated to support any one of us.
i myself still uses some old psp home brew's but they somehow are compatible with 3.xx (my slim) and in any case i would totally stop using them in exchange for newer better homebrew and games, just like how i instantly changed my phat to slim on the very first week psp slim was released.

this problem is fixable, stay with the cfw with 1.5 kernel of your choice on your phat and buy another psp for the latest homebrew demo whatever.

I don't seem to have a problem connecting to WPA2-AES on Gen-D. Well so far no problems.
They really should fully test this type of releases before they even release it to make sure there are no problems and they wouldn't have to keep posting new fixes. I never had a problem with M33 with their releases or even see them make fixes unlike this.
But I definately give GEN props though for making things happen at the moment since M33 is absent at this time.

IT WAS F*UCKING TT FILES. It was a cfw theme that was already loaded onto the cfw when installed. PSP600hax only destroyed the account because there tired of people b*itching on the "phat" version of the cfw. If you really wanted slim, ill give it to you.

M33 is the best. I've been using 5.50GEN-B, and I recently upgraded to D, but the result was catastrophic. My slim crashes once every four times I try to do something with it. So I screwed GEN-D and went back to 5.00M33-6.

I'll try D2 out and see if it's stable enough.
M33 is the best. I've been using 5.50GEN-B, and I recently upgraded to D, but the result was catastrophic. My slim crashes once every four times I try to do something with it. So I screwed GEN-D and went back to 5.00M33-6.
But still, not having 5.55+ game support sucks :(

Have you ever heard of PATCHING?
and @ GEN team...Add MS Speedup or fatmsmod (or both lol) and i will try out your new firmware but the speed I was getting from B2 (1.5 mbps transfers) was just too low...Fix that and I will be happy to upgrade as it looks like all the other bugs have been or are about to be fixed.

The whole decrypting thing takes about 10 minutes. But if you're THAT lazy you can download them already patched (assuming you've got a speedy internet connection that takes less than 10 minutes to download the game).

You didn't spell it right. It's patient. U3 is a *****ty firmware, actually it doesn't even deserve the title of firmware. It's basically just an Add-on to GEN. Don't even try to disagree because if you try to install it on any other version of GEN, you *****ing brick.

hope they fix the sleep mode problem on 5.50 gen-d.. i was playing an unpatched ISO of persona and when i go to sleep mode for the psp it wont shut off, it always turns back on.. not sure it this problem also shows to a patched ISO of persona or on other specific games too..

since i have been using cfw on my phat psp way before like 90% of the people here and i know that it is really !@#$ing annoying not having 1.50 support since 5.00M33 and the only incentive to upgrade is access to the psn network. The biggest thing for me is not being able to use psp filer which is about the most useful app on the psp.
i wish sony would stop being a ***** and have no restrictions like back in the 2.70 OE CFW days

GEN Firmwares are so unstable, many of my games crash when I go on wi-fi and all ctf themes don't work when I update from GEN-A to any other GEN firmware. If the ctf themes do end up working it results in the games not working.
