Custom Firmware 3.52 M33 update #2 - Image 1Team M33 is at it again, with their second update of their Custom Firmware 3.52 M33. This update introduces a few major changes including fixing some compatibility issues as well as removing some redundancy in the recovery.

The previous versions did not support both Chinese and Korean languages in XMB and caused the both the homebrew and recovery to crash. You will be pleased to know that this has been fixed although the Korean font is not there. If you need it, the M33 development team suggested that obtain it by using psardumper on an official updater. After that simply put it in flash0:/font/kr0.pgf.

Here are the other changes in the update:

General Changes:

  • Document.dat of psx games were broken due to some important changes in popsman.prx and now is fixed.
  • Plus, now document.dat does not need the same gameid as game which is played.
  • The compatibility issue with irshell loading psx games in usbhost/nethost has been solved.
Changes in recovery:
  • Removed the advanced config option "use isofs on UMD inserted", as it is not useful now.
  • Added "Format flash1 and restore settings" in Advanced.
  • Added speeds 20 and 100.
  • When in usb mode inside recovery, it is impossible to turn PSP off.
  • M33 driver: fixed SBK07, now it work.
The zipped file includes a readme document which you should read before doing anything. As always, this is a custom firmware. There is always a chance that you may accidentally brick your unit if you're not careful. Also, if you're using their firmware, the M33 team have requested that supporters donate to M33's PayPal account.

When you click this link, http://xrl.us/ezymoney you will go to a website that will show you how to sign up for another website that pays you 2 - 45$ (PER) to do surveys, sign up for trial offers, and test products. Companies such as ebay pay CC to have people try their offers, and when you complete an offer, CC simply passes the money onto you. By spending an average of 3-4 hours a week on cascrate, I have made 472$ in May, 412$ in June, and 271$ (SO FAR) in July. You get paid in real checks from "KNGSIDE MEDIA" every month that you earn 10 dollars or more. It may seem too good to be true, but I assure you it IS true. Also, with their referral program, you can refer people by sending them your link (you get when you sign up) and for every buck they earn, you get 20 cents also! (Think how much money you can make if you have 100 people making five bucks a day) You do not have to enter your credit card or social security number. Nothing Harmful can come from CC. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE 18 OR OLDER, I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND REFERRING PEOPLE, AND I MAKE THIS MUCH MONEY A MONTH JUST SPENDING A COUPLE MINUTES A DAY ON THE COMPUTER! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS. Think it's a scam? Read this(from the website) "We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so. Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!" There are alot of websites like this, I have tried almost all of them and this really is the best, and legit one.In addition there is a new UK section opened with more then $200 worth of free offers! can some one help me on installing the plugging i don't understand what to do
the Instructions only say this but i don't get it : copy seplugins to the root of the memory stick. Extract the following prx of a firmware: /kd/popsman.prx, /kd/pops.prx, /vsh/modules/libpspvmc.prx and /vsh/modules/pafmini.prx and copy them to /seplugins/popsloader/ with names like popsman3XX, pops3XX.prx, libpspvmc3XX.prx, pafmini3XX.prx, where XX is 40, 51, or 52.
the farest i got was that i put the copy seplugins to the root of the memory stick

Re: Mr. EEW (Unregistered) - 2007-07-29
» If you're happy and you know it flash your ROM

@francisc0kun:
don't worry about that unless you want to emulate 3.51 POPS on 3.52... which I doubt you do. It's not required. The rest of it needs you to extract data from the 3.51 install eboot, I believe, but if you don't know how to then you probably won't need to...

   Re: Oz (Unregistered) - 2007-07-30
 » re: francisc0kun "help"

They actually mislabeled the file location in their readme.

If they say the file is in kd then it's really in KN, and if they say module then it's actually in NODULE.

had me stumped for a few minutes but I just looked around the flash0 drive and found them.

Well, no body else, including me has that problem...
try reflashing the update. and try not to use any plugins or skins at first...
could be an outdated cheat or screenshot plugin.

Good Luck!

I think your settings are out of whack. I changed my UMD settings to the Sony Iso loader and every game I have tried to use works without a UMD in the drive. Go to the recovery console and try it since thats what happened to me when I first installed Team M33's 3.52-1.

 » Improvement from 5.52 M3

All the issues with 3.52 M33 homebrew and wifi capabilities are fixed with this update. Haven't noticed any errors since this update. Just wish the Russians would test their own work before releasing it to the general public but I'm not complaining.... :-) The CFW scene is alive and well..thanks to the Russians!!!!

   Re: Goobers - 2007-07-29
 » maybe

sure it would be nice for them to test it... but they can only test it so many different ways... i'm sure they don't have all the games... or even different versions of the PSP or the homebrew apps... there's ALOT to test... especially for a "non-profit" group (non-profit compared to selling you the firmware, etc). they can only do so much before they have to consider it "work."

   Re: Ninja2507 (Unregistered) - 2007-08-01
 » Lol

Last time I checked, Dark_AleX had realeased some CFW that was buggy, and applied patches to it. Since he quit before finishing 3.51 oe-a, what makes you think 3.40 oe-a doesn't have a bug, somewhere :P.
But, you make a good point on flashing, I dislike flashing my psp, and I ***** a brick everytime I boot it up the first time after flashing it.

totally agree you *****ers complaining about updates should shut the ***** up cos i'd like to see you do better

   by Alistar - 2007-07-30
 » Hmm

Lots of immature people on the Internet these days. Some for these kids need to look at their behavior on the net.

Anyway, this update doesn't look like a real bug fix that would effect many users. Update if you want but don't expect massive improvements.

The plugin goes inside a plugin folder in the root of your memory stick. Installing and updating doe snot wipe your homebrew for it only writes the update/install on to the flash0 memory.

M33 is better then OE. The only reason bricks have come through is because people never took care and messed with Flash0. If you convert the 3.40 OE-A theme before installing it, you shouldn't have a problem.

M33 Is better. But for Theme designers, 3.40 may be best.

Hope this cleared up some stuff. Oh, thank you for the update but I'd rather not update to this release due to no serious issues being addressed.
